tnhancing our )Vlinds
Through the past twelve tjears, we have worked hard to accomplish our goals, to complete
tasks, and to succeea in the things we ao. This long process has certainl!j not been eastj ana it
has taken a great aeal of deaication, determination and effort on our part and our teachers,
parents, ana coaches parts, as well. Some of us have reachea a higher level than others, but
whether we have been procrastinators, workaholics, or average stuaents, we have all maae it
to the same place, graauation. ]rom now on, our lives will grow increasingl!j aiverse. Some of
us will get jobs, some will go on to college, some will visit foreign lands, some might even
become future leaaers of this countrlj. Wherever our aestinlj takes us, we will continue to
pursue our goals, interests, and work to enhance our minas.

Exploring Lite's Dimensions
There is more to
Widefield High School
than just these walls .
Widefield ' s educational
programs have no
boundaries and extend
out into the community .
Such programs include
Bear Trap Pride Leaders ,
AP Biology , AVP ,
Building Trades and
more . Most students 1n
these programs agree
that it is a chance for
them to challenge
themselves and learn
some real life skills .
Most of all it ' s a
chance to be productive
and to prepare them to
overcome many obstacles
in life .

Seeing double? People
around Widefield
probably are this year .
There are 14 sets of
twins . Most dress
differently , but on
picture day some dressed
to show their twiness .
Each has his or her own
unique personality. In
the U. S . there are 4 . 4
million twins with
33 , 000 born each year .
Even more unique is the
fact that two sets of
twins participate in the
same activity at WHS .

Striving lor Perfection
We can never seem to
reach perfection , but we
don ' t stop trying . Our
coaches , teachers ,
directors , and peers push
us , encourage us , and
help us reach our goals .
We push ourselves . All
the practice definitely
pays off . All of our
athletic teams , bands ,
orchestras , and drama
productions are striving
for perfection . When it
comes to performance
time, it shows . We
perform only as good as
we practice .

Whether 1ts ho or co~d, Marching Band practices a ful~ practice, an hour and a
every day . Even Saturdays and holidays aren't sacred. Mariel Day, Aaron Blazis,
Matias, and ~1llian Heinr1ch s rive for perfection.

Priceless Moments
Homecoming sparked a
bit of Widefield Pride .
The events for that
weekend gave every Glad a
chance to show his or her
spirit . The bonfire was a
success at firing up the
students for Homecoming .
The parade got the
community involved and
psyched them for the
football game . The
Homecoming barbecue
allowed everyone to relax
before the big game .
Varsity football players
gave it their all with a
victory of 42-6 over Lewis
Palmer . Last but not
least , the Homecoming
dance , entitled • Emeralds

the exciting and memorable
weekend giving everyone a

The Athletic Training

one of excellence and

The student training

When the football halftime whistle blows ,
spectators who rush out to get a snack miss an
American tradition , the halftime show . Mil:ions
of American high school students are involved in
Marching Band progra~s, but many fans don ' t
appreciate or understand the time , work , and
effort that goes into a halftime show . At the
end of the show , as band members march off the

spectators may forget the planning , teaching ,
coordinating and practice , but they will
certainly remember the spectacle of the show
itself .

The Lady Glads Swim Team
had a great season.
With a 3 - 4 season ,
and a team of 40 girls ,
they made waves . There
were many individual as
well as team
improvements . The top
letter point winners
leading the team this
season were : Lara
Elwell , Anneliese
Johnson, Brandy Folt z ,
Robin Blake, and Julie
Elwell . Although the
Glads were
disappointingly defeated
by Wasson , they had
remarkable triumphs over
Mitche l l , Harrison , and
Sierra . A recent
reorganization of the
league offered the team
a chance to swim against
more evenly matched
teams .
Dur1ng diving , Jul1e Slwell helps
prep Chrissy Ha:: for her next race
by g1ving her a relaxing shoulder
massage .

Showing true gladiator sportsmanship , Maria Sanchez-Traynor makes her way to
the lane next o her, to congrat late the Wasson swimmer on an exceptional
race .

With the entry of Lewis Palmer and Sierra
