think of drama the word play come to mind, however there
really is so much more to it. There are fundamentals that most
of us regular people couldn't do like mime a story (thats in
ilence) and then get your mesage across to your audi nee.
The drama students have to learn things Like getting completley
loose and not bothering to get embares'led. Al'lo in their
learning rountine would include voice projection and e ercises in volume. The study of plays like shakespeare and
mellow drama is in the ciriculum. fter the strange

When the .J .V. football team began the season, they needed one thing. That thing was unity. In their game against Air Academy
they lost by ju t two points. The main cause of this loss was a laek of trust and not playing a a team. They didn't "belie,·c'',
fortunately that changed. The team was able to come together against Canon City and win. Finally they had became a family.
This took a lot of effort and dedication from everyone. Even the parents ofthe players got involved. Before each game home
made meals were provided, \vhich some would say help d the Grizzlie feel like a team .•J.V. this year was the melting pot of all
the grades. Even though the team had a lo ing record they became a united family. This unity \vill carry them through their
VaLity year . Like Coach Iwanski says, 'Tm proud to be a Grizzlie! Can do, \\"ill do, I believe. I believe .., We all believe too.

Mel Young- What do you feel

"It wa n't until the end of the season we tarted

Which is exactly what the girls did. " Before each

Missing ~schooly/

In the very beginning of the
2004-2005 school year, Mesa
Ridge High School experienced
a great care. The dean of our
students, Mr. John Schoolmaster, experienced a cavernous hemangioma of the brain stem, a
rare vascular malformation
which was ultimately removed
through brain surgery. He suffered a great deal and went
through some exceptionally difficult times. However, after
months in the ho pital and long
hours of rehab, Mr. choolmaster began the road of recovery.

For Mr. Schoolmaster:

And, although the recovery
time has been exten ive (and
all but easy,) it is good to say
that more than likely Mr.
Schoolmaster will be able to
come back to school next year
in order to fulfill hi la t year at
M.R.H.S. before retiring!
Throughout everything, everyone in the community,
students and staff at school,
and hi family have put in many
effort to help " chooly" get
better. The year has not been
the same without him and we
all look forward to hi return.

Mesa Ridge is not the same without
you. -Mrs. Lacasse

~~esa Ri"1ge. High-School Se11ior ClJ10s of 2 0 0 5,
Since we have been here, we have proven to everyone that we are the best class
to walk the halls of Mesa. Unforgettable 1nen1ories have been n1ade here, along
with life-long friends who will always be close to our hearts. We can all leave here
saying that we have learned a lesson or two about life. Throughout the four years
we have been here, so n1any things have changed. Right now we all wish that we
could say that \Ve have no regrets, but we can't. If we could go back and change
some of the things we have done, we would do it in a heart beat. But we've Ina de
the best of everything, afterall, it was our senior
year. There is no turning back now. So the question you have to ask yourself is, "\.Yhat do I have
to lose?"
Did you accomplish all you wanted to in high
school? Did you take things for granted? People
for granted? Did you reach for all the goals you
set, or did you at least try the best you could?
Don't live the rest of your life 'vith the question,
"What if?" ... that's the worst way to go about life.
High school is an experience that no one '"rill be able
to forget, which is why the theme of this year's
yearbook ·will forever be etched in these pages: Carpe

Tricia
She came to us in April
all cuddly and eyes blue
she was the cutest little
baby the world ever knew
sitting in her swing
just having a ball \vith
father checking it daily
to make sure it would not fall
and yes father milked her because
she was his own and even told grandma
over the phone
then she started rolling over
when you placed her on the floor
that meant just one thing she
could now start to explore

she dances in front of the stereo
doing circles on the floor but is sure
to statt crying when mom walks out the door

next came crawling and things were
set up high to keep her from getting
into whatever caught her eye

singing in her car seat dada all the time
there is no doubt on earth that she
will always be mine

then he started walking and falling
down all the time, bruises on her body
while expanding the mind

for I know she loves her daddy because
she said these words to me
you're the best darn daddy there could ever be

she likes helping mom with dinner by
getting out the pots and pans and helps
dad shine his boot by putting kiwi on her
hands

Congratulations Tricia

And see now who I've become,
It's hard to believe I've changed o much
And yet, I till hold on to orne.
I was going to be an arti t
A great poet on this land.

Or better yet, be all these thing
Do you really think I can?
I want to make a difference
And be the best at all I can,
So I'm going to be a soldier
Just like my old man.
