From the cheers to the loud crowds when the teams
win the game, to the sight of everyone working together,
to helping someone in distress; the Widefield-Security area
is caring, creative, and welcoming to just about everyone.
Kierra Lee (12) said, 'The Widefield community is a
great, friendly, safe environment. Everyone cares about
each other and are willing to help.·
Pride is a huge part of this community. We all help each
other out in the best way we can. With safety and respect
comes friendliness that creates new bonds.
'I love how everybody here just feels like family. When I
walk through the halls, I feel welcomed and accepted,' said
Chloie Gwinn (12).
Teachers educate and give advice to help each
generation make the world a little bit better. They are a big
part of this family that help us make a better life, one day at
a time.
'My favorite part about this community would have to
be the teachers, they actually try to help make you
successful,' said Nathan Towery (10).
For many years, the Widefield area has been more
successful with each passing day and continues to grow to
create a better tomorrow. One thing for sure is you can
never forget how powerful the community is.

Preparing food, gaining wisdom
on parenting, and learning aspects
on business are all essential in our
everyday lives. Our fellow Gladiators
in the food skills class learn how to
assemble together a fantastic feast.
While in parenting class, students
prepare for life as they grow older
and master taking care of a child. In
the business class, teachers guide
pupils to success by demonstrating
how to manage their finances,
product rate, and their company.
The food skills, business, and
parenting classes all lead students to
a better life· they're establishing
finance and cooking techniques,
parenting abilities, and everyday life
challenges and the solutions. All of
these classes help students get

Winter Fest is a combination of all of the Performing arts
departments in one big three day performance.

The Performing Arts Department
works very hard to get where they are.
Of course everyone likes to play
around every now and again, but for
the most part, these groups are usually
focused. "The performing arts
department is a small community
within the large community of
Widefield. It's a place for students to
express their creativity and passion,

each other as family, and they support

November marks a major space exploration accomplishment
as NASA's InSight spacecraft lands on Mars. The journey was
especially tricky because InSight was too far away to pilot the
landing, so the craft landed itself, slowing from 12,300 mph in 6.5
m1nutes. InSight now embarks on a two-year geologic core study,
which scientists hope will help them better understand why two
rocky planets like Mars and Earth are so geologically different.

blazed through Paradise,
California, in November. The
fire, which was California's
largest, deadliest and
more destructive than
the previous seven most
destructive fires combined ,
cost at least 85 people

burned concurrently with
the Woolsey and Hill Fires in

Soccer is an intense sport that makes everyone

The soccer season started off slow playing the

have played extremely well and met the expectations
of their coaches this season. Elizabeth Rivera (12)
said "Tennis was a really fun sport, I'm glad I
decided to play for two years! I enjoyed all the fun I
had and the memories I made with everyone." The
Girls Tennis teams build an amazing bond and great

Ultimate Frisbee is a sport that has been around Widefield for a few years and in
those years, everyone has given it their all. Ultimate Frisbee is a sport that everyone
can play regardless of their athletic background.
"We are a sport that accepts everyone and it's very much a self paced game. I
can help them improve during practice but when they get on the field, it's up to
the players to help coach each other and not me" Coach Nell said.
The Ultimate team has had a good season with a record of 4-4. Ultimate also
gives off a positive vibe to newcomers and to those that are willing to try new
things.
"I enjoy that it's such a positive environment and it's very obvious that everyone
that plays wants to be there to have a good time! It's the best sport" Kayler Miles
(12) said.
