To the "Working Feet of W1defield" we happily DEDICA1E the 1960 Spartacus. Wahout YOU. Widefield would not have experienced the success it has.
The feet that pass through the doors of W .II. S. vary in many ways, yet they are united
in a common purpose - -to grow and help others grow in knowledge, mterests, experiences,
and personality.
We're sure many of you have experienced the deathly silence of the halls a few hours
after school 1s dismissed. Your steps seem to echo its lone llne5S as yo·t walk down them
The gym portrays only emptiness. lt tat<es t:he working feet to make a school. The
teachers that help, the athletes that play, the leaders that p1an, and the student body that
supports----yes, this is Widefield.
The Yearbook Staff

Introducing - Your Spartacus Worken
The Yearbook Staff has produced this Annual for the
enjoyment of students and faculty. We hope that your feet
will continue in paths of happiness, learning, and contentment and that you will recall, as you page through this book,
your years at Widefield High.

Season's Highlights
The 1959 Gladiators performing in the Pikes
Peak league brought much excitement to Widefield fans throughout the course of the past season. Undoubtedly the league opener with Castle
Rock was a real thriller--Widefield winning (:
to 0 in a game that saw the Huskies threatening
to score in the final minutes.
One of the strong highlights of the year was
the game with Manitou at Manitou Stadium. After three periods of scoreless play, Widefield
erupted for three touchdowns in a very crucial
game during the midseason fight for the league
lead.
An athlete shows competitive spirit in the
classroom as well as the training field. He is
loyal to his team and his school, and must exemplify the highest ideals.
